Postcard of a carved stone marker set up in Eastport, Maine to commemorate where Baby Gruenwald was known to have ingested a magnet in 1933 when Nurse wasn’t looking.

Though the marker doesn’t go into any detail, it was actually a tiny rare earth magnet. Neodymium, probably.

There used to be a date on the marker, but Gruenwald had it ground off because he doesn’t like reminding the public of his status as a deathless unaging baby, as it encourages hard feelings.
