Here is a relief sculpture of the founder of Wartburg Castle, I believer he guide said either 1050 or 1300’s either way for this American that’s old. The story is that while hunting he came to the rock outcropping on the mountain and was so taken by it that he decided he would build his castle there except the Holy Roman Empire own it so he took dirt from his land and spread it all over to outcropping there by making where he built the castle his. The latter images fist show an original capital, again 1000 years old!, and the others in place are replicas. Stone sculpture is amazing to me I would even know where to start.
