22. ▬ ♥ ▬ Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner?

Sherry is rather hesitant to claim people as her friends, especially since she shares a bond that is different from friendship and is closer to a familial one with the few people in her life who are important to her and who are neither Lyon nor Chelia. Jura has been her older brother figure since she has joined Lamia Scale when she has been seven and the same applies to Yuuka and Tobi.

Following this logic, Lyon was one of her few actual friends but after they became a couple, he is more than just a friend to her.

Sherry acknowledges this lack of friends and tries to form bonds with new people, people she does not share some past with, past that can only be seen as emotional baggage. Rather on top of this list would be Evergreen and Yukino.

As far as ‘types’ go, Sherry does not have one because it implies that people can be labelled and she is a firm believer in the fact – and for her, it is a fact – that all people are absolutely unique. Therefore, the entire ‘type’ thing is complete nonsense in Sherry’s eyes.

(She has to be fun during sleepovers.)

And her lover is her boyfriend, Lyon, who is maybe not the answer to all her prayers but – and this is perhaps even better – someone she loves although she is very much aware of his less admirable sides.

Lucy had garnered quite the information from her female friends regarding the game of love and wooing a man when she had been single. She had quite the itinerary really, what with Mira's sweet retellings and Cana's raunchier stories. But even with the numerous tips and accounts that had been relayed to her, none were really helpful. 

At least, when it came to Laxus.

She loved the man, truly she did, but he was such an enigma at times that it hurt her head to think about. He had slept with his fair share of women, but the number of women he was really romantic with was slim to none. It was no surprise that what she knew wasn't going to come in handy, whether it be from the girls or from observing him when they were together. Especially at this time of year, when Christmas was fast approaching...

It had taken some courage--an understatement; it had taken a lot--but the blonde had somehow convinced herself to approach none other than Evergreen, the only female on Laxus' team of four. If anyone out there were to help Lucy pick out a gift for the lightning dragon slayer for their first Christmas as a couple, it would be Ever... Even if she was a bit scary.

      "Ah, Evergreen!" she greeted,        nearing the table their tribe usually sat at.

      "May I, uh, ask you for some help?        It's regarding Laxus..."

Her cheeks were rosy and her expression showed how embarrassed she truly felt for seeking assistance in this personal matter.

             Dear Worried Soul-san,

      That sure is a tough one. Juvia understands that feeling all too well. Juvia will help Worried Soul-san as best as she can~. Maybe Juvia should make a checklist of all the things to do to keep that smile lasting on your face without fooling the ones you love into thinking it’s real when it actually isn’t. 

      Step One— Juvia recommends someone to help keep you grounded. Like Juvia has Gray-sama and Lucy and Gajeel-kun! They make Juvia very very happy (even if Gray-sama and Gajeel-kun can be cold sometimes). So if you find someone to help lean on, it makes it alllll the more better~!

      Step Two— Think about what is good and what is bad. People say focus on the good because if you think about the bad, then you’ll get caught up in it, but Juvia says think of both. While thinking of both you’ll end up comparing and seeing how much you’ve grown. Compared to when Juvia was younger, Juvia doesn’t cry much anymore, but is rather happy~.

      Step Three— Sometimes you got to believe that you deserve to be happy and to feel love(although love is a very complicated feeling). Period. Oh! Make sure to do things you love too! 

      Juvia doesn’t think she did too well with that list, but here is one last tip before Juvia signs off on the letter. Remember that no matter how hard it gets, it’ll always get better in the end. Juvia understands that feeling of a dark cloud following you and holding you back (literally!), so Juvia even more so understands how hard it gets to keep that happy energy flowing. Worried Soul-san should fight for what they believe in, what makes them happy, and what keeps them going. Because in Juvia’s opinion, although she may not know Worried Soul-san personally, that everyone, including Worried Soul-san, needs some love in their lives.

Though she hid behind glasses, though form expressed disdain, and the desire for distance, it was far too obvious. Those who are in love ought to remain together. If it was but a mere fight they encountered, a slight obstacle, surely that was of no issue, right?                                        How could the inexperienced speak? All she could do was to be.....concerned.
