“I..I already don’t like this place. It’s all scary. Daddy will get mad if I’m not in my room at bedtime”
Day One (Open)
He had really screwed up this time.
Asher’s hands were on the window sill in the common room. He was looking outside at the wooded area that surrounded the psychiatric hospital. Forest scenery always made him feel at peace. Maybe it was because he remembered flickers of his bedroom as a young child. Trees, clouds along with woodland creatures were painted in happy colors on the wall. He always assumed that his parents painted over the walls when he got older.
He sighed before pressing his head against the glass, feeling the cold material on his forehead. He had been committed to a mental hospital. He was a danger to himself and others. How humiliating. He was lost enough in his own thoughts that he did not realize that he was not alone in the room anymore.
A Fresh Start
Being fresh out of university in the medical field is a sure fire way to make sure you go unnoticed by any prospective employer, but it had seemed that Roman was actually quite lucky in that regard. Usually new doctors and professionals would have to claw onto menial jobs for a couple years before being hired into the job they’d studied and prepared for. Dr. Cavanaugh was a very new therapist, who had his eyes set on Stonefield Psychiatric Hospital from the moment he graduated. He wondered why the application had gone through so quickly and why they hired him with only a phone interview. It was strange to him, but exciting, so he didn’t question it too much. Today was his first day, moving things into his office, and meeting staff and patients. Carrying in the final box from his car, he looked around, wanting to make his room an inviting environment, not a dreary doctor visit that no one is looking forward to. He kept a smile on his face, whistling a tune as he dropped the final box on his desk. The whole place had a very old vibe to it, but that wouldn’t deter Roman in the slightest. The redhead decided he’d unpack first and then go around to meet everyone. It was a little funny to him that he wanted to work so hard to unpack his office, but his own apartment was still in boxes. He chuckled to himself, before pulling out a few picture frames to put on his desk. One photo of him and his mother, another one of him as a young boy with his family pet, a golden retriever named Shaggy. He was a big fan of Scooby Doo at a young age, and he was allowed to name the dog. He smiled down at it, feeling a pair of eyes on him. He paid no mind to it, still whistling a little tune and unpacking.
Patient Zero (open starter)
Owen slowly removed his glasses, rubbing his furrowed brow in a futile attempt to relieve his nagging headache. These kids are going to be the death of me… He looked over his desk at the young man viciously gnawing on his shoelace. “Please take that out of your mouth.” The boy obliged, looking up at the stressed man with wide eyes. Calling the nurse over, Owen whispered into her ear, “Adderall.” He quickly scribbled onto a pad before illegibly signing his name at the bottom, tearing it off, and handing it to the blonde woman. She took the boy’s hand and they both quickly exited. Owen reached into his top drawer, swiftly swallowed two pain relievers, and shut his tired blue eyes.
They were jolted open by a knocking at his door. Not one fucking moment of peace…“Come in,” he groaned.

David sat quietly, observing. The small window in his room overlooked the courtyard, and so it had become one of his favorite activities to watch the children play. As much as he denied it, there was a longing way down in his heart for companionship. To know the frivolities of everyday life, however, was an impossibility. He had already created this world of loneliness for himself, and there was no chance of leaving now. He spotted a young man playing in the grass and smiled, pretending that he was that boy. So carefree, so vital, so alive. His fantasy ended, however, when a tap came on the window, frightening him to his very core. It was the child. David ducked beneath the windowsill, not wanting to ruin the boy’s fun with the face of death. He was only frightened further when he heard the sound of footsteps as a shadow loomed over him. He’d forgotten to shut the door when the attending nurse stepped out and there was someone in the doorway. He remained silent.
Jax was overwhelmed, tears almost streaming down his face though he was playing brave. “P-pardon? I d-didn’t catch that...” Jax babbled out as he wrapped his arms around himself. “N-no, I don’t w-want to eat lunch.”
This place would freak most people out, but not when it came to Skylar. He was used to places like this. He had been in a couple of mental hospitals so he was used to the setting and the shitty food which he didn’t eat anyways usually. Skylar found his place like he did at every other hospital. He got comfortable on the window sill and was looking out at the window, watching the outside. There were some animals outside and he watched them as they were free.
Skylar heard someone talking to him and that’s when he turned his head to looked at the other person. He didn’t say anything. He wanted to know why someone was trying to talk to him. What did they really want? He was just trying to relax and mind his own business.
Pill Check (Open RP)
“I’ve found half melted pills all over the halls throughout the past couple of days. If someone doesn’t fess up now, you’ll all be stuck in your rooms until I find out who it is myself.”
