Can we stop erasing Peter Pettigrew from marauders fics just because we hate what he became?
The betrayal hurts because he was their friend.
James loved him. Sirius defended him. Remus trusted him. They laughed together, fought together, chose each other.
They where Moony, Wormtail,Padfoot and Prongs
James potter would never—never—have made him secret keeper for his wife and son if he had any doubt about his love or loyalty.
And don’t even start with “he was sorted wrong.” Gryffindor is the house of the brave, and it takes a very specific kind of courage to betray the only people who ever loved you.
Erasing Peter doesn’t make the story cleaner. It makes it weaker. The story hits harder because he was family. And he chose power.
