We need to talk about SB 976.
SB 976 is a bill that would put tech and social media companies responsible if said site was wilfully disregarding the user's age.
The current version of this bill no longer calls for age verification but the vagueness of "willfully disregards users ages" is a very big issue.
If you live in CA please call your governor, fax him, or email him. Ask him politely but urgently to veto this bill, be sure to mention how it could put the state into an even bigger economic crisis than it already is right now.
This bill has passed assembly and is now waiting to be on the Governor's desk.
