Warning: The following is a rant. Albeit a fairly appropriate one! This piece of "propaganda" really grinds my gears! Yeah I get the fact that the government is on a drive to recruit teachers. Every year, hundreds of thousands of teachers are leaving the profession. Sad, but true. However, I really don't think you enter into teaching for the money! Well I certainly didn't and it shouldn't really be about that. The government should be looking at why teachers are leaving and then try and make changes. The top reasons tend to be increasingly unhealthy workloads and unrealistic expectations. I, for one, will not be returning to teaching until the government stop trying to privatise education and actually listen to teachers. Until then, good teachers will continue to leave the profession and trainee teacher numbers will dwindle. The media could also do teachers a favour and stop criticising what it is a very challenging and valuable profession. #Teachersneedsupport#Stopbashingteachers #thegovernmentneedstochange
