Reminder to my fellow social justice warriors calling our senators, protesting, educating, speaking out, and fighting to make a change: you are doing as much as you can and it does matter. Though it doesn’t feel like much harassing some secretary of the government to let our senators know how we feel about needing to end colonial violence in this country built on the backs of immigrants, or having arguments on social media about wether calling a human being an “animal” or an “alien” or “not real” acceptable or not, or donating to organizations trying to put a stop hate, or just educating yourselves about these issues. These are steps in the right direction and it is helping. Little by little we are doing something. Keep talking, keep educating yourself and others, keep being heard! And remember you are doing as much as you can. Know it’s ok to cry and take a break because our work is draining physically and emotionally. The news seems to just getting worse and worse but knowing you are with others who feel the same way is powerful. We are fighters. And we are all human. Remember to take care of yourselves in your fight for others. Drink water, take a walk, eat something, go on a rant, and listen to music. Hate will not be tolerated and we are called social justice warriors for a reason. Recharge yourselves to keep fighting. I love you all. My inbox is always open if you need to vent. 🖤✊🏽 #resist #socialjustice #socialjusticewarrior #keepfighting #educationispower #beloud #selfcare #weareallhuman #iloveyou #stopcolonialism #stopcolonialviolence #latinx #queer (at San Francisco, California)
