Everyone Take a Step Back

Right now on social media everyone is in rapid-fire attack mode. Regardless of how well-intentioned the post, everyone feels free to dismantle it, twist it, shame it, or devalue it’s worth or importance. Take a second to step back and ask yourself who the hell you are before directing your rage and indignation at others. Now is not a time for name calling and judging. Nothing constructive comes of it. Please share.

I’m gonna say it.

The lgbt community fights too much. At least on social media. There’s 14 year olds acting like they can set “rules” for the lgbt community. We need to stop trying to kick people out who have no affect on us. Someone wants to create a new word for their sexuality/gender? Go ahead, language is meant to evolve. Humans create language, language does not create us. It has no affect on me. I think we have bigger problems in the community than that. We need to deal with the racism in our community, the sexism in our community, the abuse in our community, the Islamophobia and antisemitism in our community, the transphobia in our community. And outside of our community we should be pushing for our rights. What about the fact that you can still be killed for being gay in several countries? What about the fact gay men who are sexually active can’t give blood? What about the trans people, especially those who are poc, are being murdered on the streets. And the loads of other abuse. But go off yelling at asexuals and non-binary people I guess 😐
