So we all know Not to touch our faces, wash, wash, wash our hands, follow the rules for not spreading this virus, right? Wear a mask, especially if you’re immune compromised like myself. We’re barely getting the full picture of what is really happening with this pandemic. Viruses shed days, weeks after symptoms are minimal or gone. We’re learning about a new virus, and that takes science and resources. Our new normal is terrifying but not unexpected. The USA is not prepared for this at all, perhaps this will be a wake up call for why we need a responsive government that is compassionate to all people. Health care and housing is a human right. Healthcare for profit is inhumane, and there is already concerns about shortages of anti virals and hospital beds-and patients not coming forward because they cannot afford to lose work or pay for healthcare. With over 100k homeless children in NYC alone, there’s no to housing for children and their families so they can recover from illnesses and or be quarantined. Millions of people are being affected in countless ways, soon we will all know someone who is sick, or has died. We cannot test everyone; because who’s going to pay for it? We have a government that has never prioritized healthcare. The Trump administration is so far removed from humanity that they are ignoring the rules of containment.
