Repost from @__mauritius__ This is tragic. Go ahead and check photos and videos of Mauritius. The MV Wakashio (ship) ran aground on a coral reef (how stupid was that, already??) carrying tonnes of fuel oil and already started leaking, while the authorities were doing NOTHING. The locals try to clean up the worst oil spill in their history AND THEY NEED OUR HELP RIGHT NOW!At least 1,000 tonnes of oil is estimated to have already leaked from the ship onto the waters、beaches and mangroves surrounding Mauritius and thanks to the dedicated efforts of so many amazing people on the ground there、roughly 500 tonnes of oil are estimated to have been salvaged from the ship、with another 2,500 tonnes or so remaining on the ship。WE MUST HELP THEM CLEAN UP ALL THE OIL BEFORE IT DESTROYS ANYMORE OF THEIR WILDLIFE / ECOSYSTEM!So、click the link in their bio to raise urgently needed funds to help Mauritius in their cleanup efforts as they need better equipment and all the support they can get from the international community to protect their delicate ecosystem!if you can’t donate, at least spread awareness. Please share this post with your followers and tag people、celebrities、influencers and news media who need to see it、use the hashtag #stopthespills to help spread awareness about this problem that happens far too often so we must work together to break the cycle by sharing tragic images like these all over social media! WE CANNOT KEEP ALLOWING SPILLS LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN、WE MUST DO A BETTER JOB PROTECTING OUR PLANET AS THERE IS NO PLANET B!
