New au: Stopwatch au

superhero au because I love them a little to much

False was a hero. but she doesn't know that.

she was put into the program at a very young age. as soon as people figure out her powers (the ability to stop time) she was scoped up by the government and trained to be a hero. she was 6.

when she was 16 she debuted as the hero Stopwatch. she immediately became one of the biggest assets to the hero's side. after all, you can't stop someone who's literally coming at you from between time itself.

her powers came with a nasty side effect. the more she used them, the worse her memory got. at first she only forgot things from her past or that weren't that important (ie; her parents). but eventually it started to hinder her in battle. she forgot who she was fighting sometimes.

one villain noticed this and used it to his advantage. he created a battle that was long and drawn out, forcing her to use her power to much. the battle caused the death of another hero.

False was found afterwards. she had won the battle but was unconscious. when she woke up she had no memories and her power had all but vanished. the Hero's had no use for her any more, so they told everyone that Stopwatch was dead. she might as well be.

except... it's been 5 years since her "death" and False is still having weird dreams. and after going to the site of her "death" False is starting to have flashes of memories.

Hot Guy was a close ally to Stopwatch. in fact he's never stoped hunting her killer.

in training they were very close. its less about Hot Guy and Stopwatch and more abut Scar and False.

but hey life goes on, and now he has a sidekick Cute Guy. his life's going great. plus he's made new friends, and most of his old friends are still alive. its all fine.

Until the 5 year memorial. where he swears he sees False in the crowd...

Cute Guy, or Grian doesn't believe him originally. until he looks into it civilian side, and realizes that a lot about Stopwatches "Death" doesn't make a lot of sense. why was her funeral so rushed? why was her cause of "death" never declared? why is information about her "death" buried three confidentiality levels deep?

basically; False is starting to remember, whilst Grain and Scar are starting to think that all is not what it seems on the hero team.

also: Joe shows up with basically the same power set as Beetlejuice so I think that's worth mentioning.

Stopwatch (The one where midoriya can rewind time) AU -Speaking of the sports festival, how did that go? And who’s on Midoriya’s team for the calvary battle?

Midoriya wouldn't use his Quirk at all for the race. Though since he doesn't have any OFA expectations or pressure on himself, he would be a bit more confident in his performance than in canon. His cavalry team would probably be pretty similar; Tokoyami is the only one I see maybe being swapped out. But Midoriya would have a better chance at avoiding losing the headband or at taking it back with his Quirk.

Though, with his Quirk, he'd struggle against anyone with range in the tournament.

It's also worth noting that the USJ attack not happening would dramatically affect the positions of everyone in the Obstacle Race and lead to 1-B in the tournament

Stopwatch AU:

My idea for Deja Vu would be based on proximity and ‘exposure’ to whenever Midoriya uses his quirk.

Far enough away or just uses once or twice, nothing special.

Right next to the person after he jumps back and does it multiple times, they start feeling the Deja Vu, but don’t realize it.

Uraraka would be the first to notice from being near Midoriya the most, but she only starts to feel it around the end of the Sports Festival and probably still be a while till someone puts it together.

It being in proximity to him could be interesting

Stopwatch AU:

The more I think about Midoriya’s powers, I’m reminded of the character Francis Grey from The Batman (2004) tv show.

Which then made me wonder, would people who are near Midoriya when he uses his powers, more likely to start to have Déjà vu?

Like it not too noticeable, but after being around it enough, they start to have a small feeling of when he used his powers.

Side note: How did he help Uraraka during the Entrance Exams?

Deja vu might be an interesting thing to happen if he's used it a few times, but it would also have some weird implications since, well, everyone on the planet would presumably start experiencing deja vu.

I'm not really sure how they interacted during the exams.

Stopwatch: If All Might waited with Midoriya, does that mean the second Sludge Villain Incident didn't happen? Does that have any effects on Bakugo's health and/or training? Has this been asked before?

You're right, Bakugou wouldn't have been attacked by the Sludge Villain. The issue is that Bakugou's health and/or training may have already been impacted by Midoriya awakening a 'precognitive' Quirk that lets him avoid Bakugou's attacks
