   She lifted her hand slowly, freezing the supreme leader in his place, preventing him from storming off. One thing that had been much easier here compared to where she had her former life — people were easier to manipulate. They had grown and evolved while soaked in her energy, making them oh so easy for her to manipulate. It was a difficult thing to describe. She often wondered if that was what it had been like for God.

   “Your ANGER speaks volumes,” she spoke. “It is rude to turn your back on someone you are trying to convince, Ben.” She released him just enough to give him the ability to talk, and with a twist of her wrist, she turned him back around. “Much better.”

𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐑, eyebrows pinched together as  confusion settles in on his expression before it is quickly pushed away. her question causes a soft sound to leave him as he tries to find the right words to say - all the while she’s looking at him with eyes that seem to see straight through him. finally, the ex-soldier shakes his head and lifts his shoulders in a shrug. ❛ ... no. ❜

weight is shifted from one foot to the other before he turns back in the direction he had been leading them, though no motion is made to move forward. ❛ someone needed to start moving, so i did. ❜ the slums were unfamiliar to him and one section bled into the next, leaving him at the mercy of whoever he happened to be traveling with more than he cared for. ❛ i suppose you know the way? ❜

She could hardly look more pleased with herself when she turns around at last to present Aerith’s drink. A gracefully-curved coupe glass adorned with lavender and rose, ornamenting a delicate pink libation topped with a head as elegant as seafoam. 

“Okay, so I took some liberties,” she warns with a nervous laugh, a trepidation like thrill. “It’s a lavender-infused vodka with a hibiscus syrup and elderflower liqueur, and a rosewater foam.” She bites her lip in anticipation of Aerith’s verdict, her scarlet eyes glittering in anticipation. “I don’t get too many chances to get creative, so I’m excited to see if you like it. I might have gotten a little carried away ...”
