     HER FIANCEE was going to kill her, there were no ifs ands or butts about it. She really was going to get her ass kicked from here to hell and most likely sleep on the lounge. The blonde hadn’t necessarily done anything, it’s because she was with TK that she got thrown into a jail cell.  Or perhaps she returned a hit and punched someone in the face. In self defense of course. There were people throwing certain slurs at them, that she didn’t like, so of course it involved in them and a few others getting into trouble. “You know, I’m sick and tired of people saying shit. It makes me want to punch them in the face. again.” the blonde spoke, eyeing the man in the cell across from them, the one with the black eye. She DID THAT.

MIchael groaned as he flopped onto his back in the bed, rolling his eyes. “I mean technically you don’t need to go to work, right? Tell me you wouldn’t rather spend the rest of the day in bed with me than staring at alien code that literally no one understands, including me.” It wasn’t a totally accurate statement but Michael didn’t care if it convinced Alex not to go. 

A hand slipped along Alex’s hip and Michael snuggled closer. “Call in sick. It’s not like your boss is going to fire you.”

                          At first, she’s barely listening, eyebrows knitted together too focused on skipping through radio stations to find a song that she likes. At first, she almost misses it. “You would think they would have more options around here than-- wait,” Yelena looks up, frustrated look disappearing for an amused one instead, a feigned gasp following, “You?! A mistake?! Natasha Romanova, greatest superhero of all time, a mistake?”

normally, alec would wake magnus up with a kiss and offer a shower together. but yesterday was a busy day for both of them, and after a successful date night, well.. they had been pretty tired, so he let magnus sleep in a little longer, not wanting to wake the sleeping warlock. magnus always looked most peaceful when he was asleep, alec watching him for a moment just to see him fully at rest. he feels magnus pressing against his backside, a kiss being pressed to the rune that lays on his shoulder. a soft sigh escapes him, leaning back against magnus-- so much for sleeping in. 

“i didn’t want to wake you,” he says softly, closing his eyes for a moment and enjoying the peacefulness of it all, because he knew that it wasn’t going to last very long. someone would start calling, either with some kind of emergency or trying to barge in the loft. it always seemed like someone was needing one of them. “you look so cute when you’re sleeping.” he finally turns around, leaning down to capture magnus’ mouth in a kiss. “though, i’m a fan of shower magnus, too.”

 “Am I okay? You just -- how did--” Darcy had yet to completely pick her jaw up off of the floor. One minute she had been cleaning out her desk after being fired for her crazy theories and the next the new intern had tried to kill her in order to get the flash drive she found in the mail. The altercation had been chaotic and violent...and completely unnecessary. She hadn’t even been able to see what was on the thing, the encryption went way past her current understanding of technology. In fact, she’d have been a goner if the blonde bombshell in front of her hadn’t kicked the guys ass and made it look like nothing. 

“Okay, well that was very impressive. I’m assuming I’ve just gotten sucked into something way above my pay grade...again.”

this wasn't the magnus he knew and loved, the one who had talked of building a future with him. it was like that magnus had been body swapped again, only he knew the truth. edom had changed him, and when he had gotten magnus back it was like he had been a whole different person, a new evil they had to wipe away. alec didn't want it to come down to that, to having to fight the man he loved more than anything else in the world. "None of us think you're just a warlock, Magnus. I've never thought that." he had been so much more than that to him, to his family. magnus had become one of their own. he swallows thickly, shaking his head. it had been a terrible idea to come here alone, but he had insisted that magnus wouldn't dare hurt him, that he could handle magnus on his own.

but seeing the way his magic gleamed red from his fingers, he started to wonder if maybe it was stupid to think that this magnus wouldn't lose control and do something to him. "Magnus, you never wanted to become this, like Asmodeus. What happened to that? What happened to the man who said it's only edom?"
