"you didn’t miss me, not even a little?”
@storiesofoblivion liked THIS for a halloween starter 🎃
If Isla liked Halloween, it wasn’t because of the spooky factor. While other people were happy dressing as scary monsters and old memes, Isla used Halloween as an excuse to throw extravagant parties where she and a bunch of lucky people would drink, do drugs, and maybe even participate in activities that’d give a priest a heart attack.
Of course, that usually happened later in the night. The party had just started so Isla found herself walking along the bar, carefully examining who had attended her event while also ensuring everyone got to see her costume and how little skin it covered. Didn’t Lindsay Lohan say Halloween was the perfect time for girls to dress as sluts without being judged?
“See, you look a bit too sober and it’s kind of worrying me. Want to do some shots?“
@storiesofoblivion lyrics from motion sickness by phoebe bridgers
“i hate you for what you did...” summer begins as she readjusts her posture in the passenger seat, glancing over at the other. getting a ride home with them was her only option -- being back in town for a funeral, the femme got a little too drunk at a friend’s place and had ended up calling them. “but i miss you like a little kid.”

There were days when Rhiannon would wake up with a clear mind. But as her eyes fluttered open the next morning, the juxtaposition of anxiety and comfort fell into her psyche. My God, what did they do? More importantly, what was she going to do? Being with Edward felt both natural, yet like a betrayal of all the progress she made since their break up. Then again, was she really going to walk away from the love of her life because of her pride? She reaches for her clothes, throwing them on and gently leaving his bedroom. As she moves towards the kitchen, she spots a post it on the fridge; ‘Went on a sail, be back for dinner ;)’ her mom scribbled. With a laugh and a scoff, she crumples it up and throws it away. At least they were considerate. She grabs a pack of cigarettes from the counter, stepping outside by the water. As she lights her cigarette, she can hear Edward’s foot steps behind her.
“Ed... I don’t have an answer for you.” Rhiannon states before he can get a word in, using the back of her hand to wipe her nose Was last night beautiful? Yes. But in the harshness of the morning, she’s left with more questions than answers. Was he going to leave his fiance? Would he move back to their sleepy small town? Or would Rhiannon have to pack up her life and adjust to his upper crust family? What about his parents? “I think I need some time to figure it out.”

alexis couldn’t imagine the time when he wasn’t her best friend. they had been through so much together over the years and if she had to be honest, she wouldn’t know what to do without him. he had stayed beside her during the lowest of lows in her whirlwind of a career and he had been the one to pick her up when she was a drunk-dialing mess after the worst heartbreak. she didn’t know what happened that triggered the shift in their dynamic, but at some point falling into bed with him had become a weekly occurrence. it had sent her heart into a frenzy and she didn’t like it at all. despite being someone whose profession was to tell stories, she had never been fond of talking about her own emotions, so she had tried to avoid his questions the first few times, choosing instead to divert his attention or clutch onto reasons to excuse herself from the unsettling conversation. but this time, he had cornered her and left her no room to escape.
“— i just don’t want to complicate things, alright?” her confession came after a long, strenuous pause that stretched on in the space between them. alexis ran her hand through her disheveled hair as she avoided his inquisitive gaze. it made her feel so exposed that she couldn’t help but fidget from the attention. having only decided to get out of a catastrophic marriage two months ago, it was too soon for her to talk about the matters of her heart, but this was a mess of her own doing and she was out of places to hide. “isn’t this good enough?”
