Still got my stork bite on the neck and I'm 38 😅
Has anybody ever thought to read some white babies’ stork bites like tea leaves or that just me-
Fun fact time with MarsBars the Candy Bars (me, Mars/Markus)!!
Y’all know about salmon patches? I didn’t know them by this name, but stork bites or salmon patches (or in my family, goose bites) are these birthmarks that don’t actually LOOK different from your skin, until you start crying. Most baby’s have some form of salmon patches, but I specifically had stork bites
The difference, effectively, is that salmon patches CAN be everywhere (usually the face (eyelids, forehead, cheeks)) but stork bites are specifically the back of your neck or where your hair will grow
~50% of people with salmon patches/stork bites loose them as they grow up, but for some reason I didn’t. Mine didn’t disappear, but they did MOVE
I used to have them ONLY on the back of my neck (I know this from talking to my mom, who has brought this up to me several times. It is apparently how they figured out if I was upset or too hot and what not) but now?
Now my WHOLE fucking face is a salmon patch. If I get too hot? Entire face goes red. If I’m too upset/am crying too hard? Entire face goes red. There are spots here and there they stay pale (slightly pinker than normal, but still very clearly white) but most of my face turns BRIGHT BRIGHT RED
I have a mixed relationship with my salmon patches. Why do people need to know I’m upset or overheated? Why does it make my skin so splotchy? Why does it actually look kinda cute if I stare for long enough?
Basically, about 50% of the adult population has spots on their body (face, back of neck, could be anywhere ig) that goes BRIGHT fucking red if they’re sobbing or overheated. I, (un(?))luckly, am part of that 50%.
Got no clue if anyone else in my family still has their salmon patches/goose bites, but ik I still do
