S.H.I.E.L.D. has fallen, and...well...Sharon doesn’t quite know what to do with herself. It’s like everything she’s stood for, everything she’s believed in has been ripped out from under her and she’s struggling to find her footing. 

The next logical step would be for her to apply to the CIA, and so that’s what she does, but the application process could take weeks, if not months, and so Sharon’s back home in Washington -- not quite visiting family, even though she’s staying with her brother and his wife (because she’s leased out her apartment and doesn’t exactly have a place of her own -- then again, if she’d been expecting the unexpected, she probably wouldn’t have rented out her place). She’s spending most of her time avoiding her mother, driving around to different places and exploring the city she hasn’t called home in a long time.

She’s in the library today, browsing through the shelves with the history books -- it’s like there’s a part of her wondering if there were ever any hints in written history that HYDRA had been inside of S.H.I.E.L.D. this whole time. She pulls out a couple of books, makes her way to a table with just one other person there, a woman with dark hair who looks strangely familiar. “Mind if I sit here?”
