very sad to hear about the passing of Jason Jinx. resident of the legendary #NASA parties at #TheShelter as well as #TheTunnel & #Limelight & also part of the original #StormRave crew. no details at this time but he was found unresponsive in his apartment. last time I saw him was at #MaskARave here in NYC & he was all smiles. as artists we come from fragile stock. behind our masks lay a universe of untold stories. if you know someone who’s gone quiet, give them a call. you could change someone’s day & without knowing it you could save a life. 25 years ago tonight was a night that changed my life. I drove w/ Kurt from @dropbassnetwork & a few friends, picked up another minivan full of kids from Ohio on the way & witnessed thousands of NYC kids rage to the hardest music I’d heard before than night & ever since in a horse stable in Staten Island at the very last #StormRave. when we arrived, I unbeknownst to me, smoked angel dust after candy flipping & lost my fucking mind. this night was one of the most unhinged I ever saw in the Rave scene & @djfrankiebones & Co. took us on the wildest of rides. everything musically after that night was different & #DropBassNetwork took a turn to the dark side of Techno in its wake. I was very lucky to have witnessed such incredible, unbridled freedom & chaos on a dance floor & it has informed everything I’ve ever done since. (at Staten Island, New York)
