Posted @withregram • @5cycloneaircadets In a new series we’ll be running on our Facebook and Instagram pages, we wanted to highlight our entire reason for being; our cadets. In this series we will be profiling the young men and women who are currently making their way through the cadet program here at 5 Cyclone. Our next such profile will feature the 2IC (Second In Command) of Flight 1, Flight Sergeant Veronique Tanguay. Flight Sergeant Tanguay first joined 5 Cyclone Squadron in September of 2015 because she had two sisters in cadets before her and she wanted to follow in their footsteps. She has stuck with the program because it became a second family for her. It also taught her to be a great leader, good citizen, and what it was like to be a part of a great team. Flight Sergeant Tanguay first felt like a cadet at her first Remembrance Day Ceremony and her favourite cadet activity is Drill Team. Her favourite cadet experience so far has been serving as 5 Cyclone's recruit flight commander where she was responsible for ensuring the new cadets felt welcomed and learned what it means to be cadets. She says it was a great experience and one she will always remember. Flight Sergeant Tanguay has had the chance to experience a summer training course as well, having attended the General Training Course in the summer of 2016. Of her goals for her cadet career, Flight Sergeant Tanguay wants to become a better version of herself and help other become better versions of themselves. Following her time in cadets, she hopes to run her own business in the hospitality industry. #MasterPlan #GoodEvening #StormWatch #StormSquad #StormSurge #TodaysYouth #TomorrowsLeaders #EyeOftheCyclone #CountryAir #CyclonePride https://www.instagram.com/p/B_vx0_wDRLK/?igshid=1nalzwt7ncupk
Posted @withregram • @5cycloneaircadets A few weeks ago, we asked our cadets to come up with cadet memes in an effort to break up the news cycle of COVID-19 related posts. By submitting a meme, cadets would earn points for their flights and a shot at the prestigious title of Top Flight for the 2019-2020 training year. This meme was submitted by the commander of Flight 1, Flight Sergeant Isabelle Ranger. #MasterPlan #GoodEvening #StormWatch #StormSquad #StormSurge #TodaysYouth #TomorrowsLeaders #EyeOftheCyclone #CountryAir #CyclonePride https://www.instagram.com/p/B_s4ewpDhXU/?igshid=1bu5rutpm9xsh

In this series we will be profiling the young men and women who are currently making their way through the cadet program here at 5 Cyclone. Our next such profile will feature Sergeant Jenny Willis. Sergeant Willis first joined 5 Cyclone Squadron in 2016 because she was looking to be in a disciplined organization and to have the opportunity to make new friends. She has stuck with the program because she has built up many amazing relationships and loves the opportunities that have been given to her. Sergeant Willis first felt like a cadet at her first CO’s parade. She recalls feeling the unity of the whole squadron and that it felt special to know that she was part of something bigger. Effective Speaking has become her favourite cadet experience, as it has taught her how to hold herself with confidence and how to express herself well. Sergeant Willis has already had the chance to experience a summer training course as well, having attended the General Training Course in the summer of 2017. In the future, Sergeant Willis hopes to become a flight commander and, following her time in cadets, she hopes to find a career as a freelance artist. #MasterPlan #GoodEvening #StormWatch #StormSquad #StormSurge #TodaysYouth #TomorrowsLeaders #EyeOftheCyclone #CountryAir #CyclonePride https://www.instagram.com/p/B_c6vrJDBcC/?igshid=1u2ldntjlnyuo
Posted @withregram • @5cycloneaircadets Each spring, the cadets of 5 Cyclone can be found in front of local businesses accepting donation from our community members while offering smiles, greetings and conversation. In these difficult times, 5 Cyclone is asking that our generous community members concider directing their generocity to their local food bank. In Russell Township, @BonsVoisinsGoodNeighbours is experiencing unprecidented demand and anything you can do can help. Food can be donated at any local grocery store. They also accept etransfer to [email protected]. #MasterPlan #GoodEvening #StormWatch #StormSquad #StormSurge #TodaysYouth #TomorrowsLeaders #EyeOftheCyclone #CountryAir #CyclonePride https://www.instagram.com/p/B_Vo1LWj_MP/?igshid=180zgo26f0g5y
