Thing #1001 that I hate about the 50th:
"Never cruel or cowardly"
B U L L S H I T
Nine chose being a coward over a killer, even though Nine is an 'actions-speak-louder-than-words' person. He just couldn't commit genocide again. Ten throughout his run has several moments of cowardice. In fact, The Doctor is an inherently cowardly person because they don't like to face the consequences of their actions/clean up.
Unpopular DW Opinion:
At this point, the writers need to stop bringing back the Daleks.
Seriously.
Them coming back doesn't even make sense, and the in story reasons ring hollow.
Stop it. You have an entire bloody universe. Come up with your own revolutionary Big Bad that's a Clever Analogy for the Evil of Our Time. Bringing the Daleks back? It's lazy writing at this point
*Deep breath*
If you are in quarantine, please, do the population a favour: RESPECT THE FUCKING RULES OF THE QUARANTINE
You want to flip The Man the bird? Fine. BUT DON’T FUCKING BREAK THE RULES OF QUARANTINE. That’s not sticking it to the man, that’s putting average every day people in danger
I AM SO MAD AT DISNEY RN
WE COULD HAVE HAD 'TREASURE PLANET 2'
Okay, maybe not mad, but DEFINITELY disappointed
People who call IMMEDIATELY after sending an e-mail: WHY
PSA if you're considering using a printshop's services:
"Poster" or "poster size" are not magic words that machine operators/print techs will hear and immediately know *exactly* what size you want.
A poster can be anything from 8.5x11 to 48x36 or bigger.
So please, don't give us 18x24in artworks and then tell us to print 'x' many "poster size" when what you want is Tabloid (11x17) or US Letter (8.5x11).
We aren't mindreaders.
If you give a print tech a file that is 18x24, tell them 'poster size' for the format, then they're going to assume you mean the size of your file, which in the case of this example, is 18x24 (esp in small quantities).
TL;DR-- PLEASE, be specific about what you want if you're looking to have stuff printed. If you're not sure, ask! Chances are the techs will be more than happy to help.
Sincerely,
Stormy the Print-tech
Print tech Rant of the Day #2:
Please send PDFs as much as possible.
Not all printshops will have access to Adobe programs. And, even if they do, it is unlikely that they will have A) the same edition as you, B) that more than one work station will have it.
This is equally important for the Office Suite, because I'm pretty sure everyone knows the nightmare that compatibility can cause between different editions of Word or PPT.
Besides obvious compatibility issues, printshops tend to use a software for managing jobs on each printer that only works well if the file it's printing is a PDF.
JPEGS are easy to convert. Word and PPT, too, but then we have zero way of knowing whether or not a font has changed or the text placement is wrong, etc. Same goes with Adobe.
And listen, there is zero - ZERO - excuse for sending your file as a .dox/.ppt/.ai/.psd/.indd/etc.
Why? Because all of those programs let you either save or export your file as a PDF.
Please, save everyone the headache and just send it as a PDF from the get go
