man who burns his candles at both ends & looks his gift horse in the mouth / a loose ref for one of my ocs, Vibidia Duo! rambling and shitty lineless beneath the cut
The Sandbuster is an elusive dragon, to the point where it is either entirely unknown or a myth to most. Yet despite this, in some places they have a saying about this dragon, using it as a warning to those who are plagued by greed.
The Sandbuster is a hoarder, it digs it's den in beaches and steals gold and jewels, armor and metal, weapons and cargo - anything it can get it's greedy talons on. It will make it's den bigger and deeper as the hoard grows for it is never satisfied and all of this greed has a price. The sandbuster can never see the sun, it will never seek companionship and it will forever be ravenous for riches. The Sandbuster is aggressive and vicious, forever guarding it's riches and even snatching those above for it worries that they may steal from it's hoard. It is a paranoid and horrific creature that has lived a life of obscurity due to its habits.
Greed can do this to a man as well. A man who constantly hungers, wether it be for riches, power or maybe vengeance is almost always destined to the Sandbusters folly. For the man who is greedy digs his own pit, an endless circle of need for whatever he seeks to hoard. As the man digs this pit he distances himself from what he once was, becoming more and more reclusive as his greed grows. His greed also causes him to protect and obsess over his 'hoard' to the point of paranoia, worrying that everyone is out to steal from him or hinder his plans. Every day he lets his greed control him the more like the Sandbuster he becomes, he has dug a mental den and he now hisses at the light outside of it since he is no longer open to new ideas, if anyone tries to get into his thoughts or life he pushes them away for fear that they will steal from him or he will drag them down into his folly as well and finally... The more he recluses into his pit, the more of a myth he becomes, for who wants to stay with someone who cares only for that which they hoard? He fades into obscurity. unless one stumbles upon him and even then they most likely won't live to tell the tale and if they do most won't listen.

Ha wrote this awhile ago and figured ehhh why not post it since I'm genuinely proud of it or at least the world building behind it. Im a massive HTTYD fan with a major soft spot for a lot of the show dragons especially sand busters, they're just a really interesting concept to me and I figured "Hey I can use this as some symbolism for my greedy bastard man" thus this idea came to me. So yeah- I may make more of these things cause there's more dragons that could be used as warnings of sorts, idk I just like symbolism- Or maybe just headcannon posts who knows.
Speaking of which this writing is done from a human standpoint, using personification to more symbolize the Sand Buster as a creature of greed and not as an animal. In reality it's just an animal, a beach side ambush predator with an affiliation for human trinkets.
WORDGIRL NARRATOR QUESTIONS - “Hokori Agawa’s Fate”
“Hokori, how did you die?”
Hokori: “EXCUSE ME?!”
“Well, i’m asking questions and this is one you get all the time from the other villains. Since you’re a ghost, you were alive at one point, then you died and now you’re dead. So, what was that like for you?”
Hokori: “And you really think that’s an appropriate question to ask? You don’t see how that’s offensive at all?”
“Is it?...I don’t know, i’ve never spoke to a ghost before.”
Hokori: “Well, it is! Jerk!”
“Alright then…I’m sorry. So, moving on-”
Hokori: “It was winter. My dear Kikai was nowhere to be found after he had headed off to sell his wares a week ago. I was determined to find out where he could be and headed to the last place he had gone to…the snowstorm was vicious that day. As i headed forth, i could see a woman in white robes, looking upon a giant glacier…something was in it. I headed over to see…Kikai. Frozen into ice. The woman was the monstrous Yuki-Onna, who threatened me that if I ever told anyone what happened, she would come for me. And since i’m a ghost, as you say…someone found out.”
“How so?”
Hokori: “My family. I wrote about the incident in a scroll and hid it ever so carefully. But my mother found it, read the scroll and forced me to confess that it was true even though I knew what would happen if I did…and i met the same fate my dear Kikai did. There. That’s how it happened. Now quit bothering me about it!!”
“Sorry...!!”
Hokori: “...Actually, i don’t think i’ve seen your face before, dear Narrator. Let me get a closer look at how handsome you may be...” “Uhhh, WORDGIRL!!”
Realized I never posted this lil gremlin, so have Algorithms Pseudo ref sheet
This man is heavily controlling, and when he wants something, he gets it, and he gets angry as hell when he doesn't.
You've seen pictures of his brother around I think, the teal clad papy by the name of DBug, yeah that's his brother, and D is doing everything in his power to stay out of his elder brothers clutches.
His original au was falling apart at the seams, due to his constant haphazard manhandling of the code to fit it more to his tastes and wants.
It eventually collapsed when 'The Main 4' (no posts about them as of yet) Entered the timeline and destroyed the barrier.
Now he spends his time chasing after his brother and the incessant group of outcodes and anomaly's that surround him.
Suppose Emil finds Alfred with the merbabies? He has experience with tiny mers! Bonus for any embarrassing anecdotes Icey makes about lil’ Alfie and Mattie!
Alfred looked up at Emil. “This was Lukas?” he asked.
Emil nodded. “He said he was working on a new spell,” he replied, picking up the tiny shark on Alfred’s head. Gilbert growled at him and squirmed in his grip. Alfred sat up.
“Careful! He bites!” he warned.
Emil laughed. “Don’t worry. I got him under control.” He sat down next to the siren, holding a hissy Gilbert in his lap. “Y’know, you used to be a sleep biter.”
Alfred looked at him. “A what?”
Emil stared into space as if recalling a memory. “Sometimes when you would go to bed with one of us, you would bite us in your sleep. There was this one time you and Matthew went to sleep with Mathias. You bit him so hard you drew blood. You wouldn’t stop apologizing.”
Alfred slightly blushed red. Emil chuckled lightly. “You’ve bitten all of us at least twice,” He held up Gilbert, “so I think I’ll be good.”
Alfred tilted his head. “Do ya know why?” he asked.
Emil nodded again. “You’ve admitted to dreaming about food the nights before,” he explained. “At least you weren’t the day biter. That was Matthew’s job.” He started to get up. “I’ll go find Lukas and see if he’ll turn Gil back.” Emil swam off to find the European eel, Gilbert held under one arm.
Alfred sighed and leaned back. He could finally catch his breath.
...
“Wait, where’s Mathias?”

What happened?
Where was she? The place looked empty..
How did she get here?
Was she supposed to be here? Was there an exit?
Has she ever heard her voice talking outside of her head before? Why was this place so loud yet so quiet?
...
Slowly it came back to her... This all started because of the war.. All she wanted was for it to stop but... Now she was here in an absolutely empty place she had no clue existed..
Was she alive? Was she dead?
Did she win? Did she lose?
Did something else happen? Was this supposed to happen?
Why did it feel so hard to breathe.. Was she even breathing? Could she even breathe in this place?
Why was this place so dark yet she can feel the many colors she can barely see?
Did that make sense? Was she going insane?
Was this a dream..?
This was too overwhelming..
She just wanted to go back home...
