Mondstadt High School Headcanons

(Based on American HS cause I’m American 🇺🇸 🦅🔥)

Jean is that vice principal/dean that stomps around the halls and has more power than the principal, who looks really mean cause RBF but is actually a really nice and agreeable woman who’s more helpful than the counselors.

Varka is the Athletic Director and best coach ever!! Loves the boys football team, but we all know that the Girl’s Golf and Volleyball are his favs. The kinda gym teacher that plays imagine dragons and Cupid shuffle over the JBL speaker during gym class or practice.

Seamus (Jean/barbara’s father in genshin canon, deacon of the church) is the principal, because Varka realistically would NAWT get hired for that position. The kinda principal that would reluctantly let a stunt biker do a flip over his head at an anti-bullying pep rally. Sacrifices his comfort for the enjoyment of the students. The most bullyable (and actively bullied) principal possible.

Albedo is the teacher that teaches ALL the sciences. Biology, Anatomy, Ecology, etc. however… THEYRE ALL HONORS/AP CLASSES!! If 50 students sign up for a class of his, you bet that 25 will drop out by the second semester. The students that stick around say he’s the best, most inspiring teacher ever.

Lisa is the Librarian (obviously) and the English teacher that everyone SWEARS has something going on with the vice principal. Good students pay attention in her class, other can’t focus. Typa teacher to play calming café music off of YouTube or piano covers of popular pop songs while her students work. Doubles as a study hall teacher because she’s lazy and just takes a nap that period. Typa teacher to have her Snapchat avatar up on the board.

Diluc is that one male history teacher that everyone either hates with their whole being or loves with their whole heart. History was never his passion, but seeing students finding it as their passion is something that inspires him. As well as sending kids to detention. He’s the teacher that gets a kick out of punishing delinquents. “Your verdict is,..DETENTION!!” Type shit. Also doubles as a business/finance electives teacher.

Kaeya is that one multiple electives teacher that teaches nothing but GPA boosters. Preparing for college and careers? Free A+. Intro to Literature? You’re doing nothing but watch Shakespearean movies all year. Ceramics? You could make a blob, call it abstract, and you’re set for the whole semester.

Venti is that one bum ass music/band teacher that arrives late to class and lets his students cuss like sailors. “Sorry I’m late for class” while walking in with McDonald’s. Plays nothing but pop or Disney songs, unless it’s the holidays, where he WILL be playing the most OBNOXIOUS but EASY songs for the winter concert. Is also the Theater director.

Signora is that one math teacher that everyone hates because her class is unapologetically hard. “you signed up, you knew what was coming” is always her comeback since she teaches honors/AP. However, some have come to respect her because she treats every student the same, regardless if they are a good or bad student. Complete neutrality, and if you look below the scowl and actually observe her actions, you’ll find that her treatment of students is actually far better than what her attitude and classwork makes it out to be. You ask for help, she’ll try every way to pound it into your head until you understand it.

STUDENTS!!

Rosaria (senior) is captain of the self-defense team, star basketball player, and resident brooding lesbian goth whom the ladies are nervous to talk to but really wanna approach.

Eula (senior) captain of the fencing team, hall monitor, and resident teacher’s pet. Scarier than Dean Jean when it comes down to actual punishment distribution.

Mona (senior) leader of the occult club, and its only member. Is that 2020 astrology girl who will NOT talk to you if you’re a Gemini cause she’s just that confident Virgo girl. However… even if the whole school doesn’t wanna accept it, her predictions have never been wrong. SHE’S the one who had a terrible feeling about Lohen when he first arrived, and she ended up being right. Every feeling she has ends up being true, but they still call her a lunatic.

Lohen (junior) that kid who is ALWAYS either in detention, or the counselor’s office. The typa guy who’d be in those delinquent boy x listener boyfriend asmr I used to listen to when I was 13 (Iykyk). Not like detention could hold him for long because since Lisa is always asleep during his time, he’d just sneak out and into Varka’s office to raid his fridge for energy drinks. Has an active feud between himself and Diluc, but the only one he truly never wishes to face is Eula. Bad influence on Timmie.

Sucrose (junior) somehow landed herself as the class president even though she didn’t even sign up. Despite this, she still proves to be a great leader and actively makes positive and beneficial changes in the student body’s favor. Still no idea who keeps signing her up for things she is afraid of. Could never be a certain science teacher who encourages her to overcome her fears…👀 Is terrified of Lohen. Genuinely nothing she fears more than Lohen.

Amber (junior) Eula’s fellow hall monitor, but a much friendlier one. Mondstadt’s trackstar, and sporty girl, who is one of the very talented upcoming athletes never before seen in mondstadt’s history!! Has tried every sport but fell in love with track, tennis, and basketball. Vice Class President, and the face of Sucrose’s helpful ideas.

Dahlia (sophomore) gets the male lead in every theater production due to a lack of males in general. Is the one that comes up with all of those strange rituals one does before shows, and is a bad influence on any and all freshmen. The type of sophomore to go “heh, these freshies don’t know how things work around here” BROTHER THAT WAS YOU!! Exclusively eats at Waffle House at 11pm every night.

Barbara (sophomore) leads the choir, and plays very prominent roles in theater. If she wasn’t so pressed by all her classes and extracurriculars, she would have enough patience to become a hall monitor like Eula invited her to. But with Tennis, Theater, Choir, and student council + Dahlia monitoring, she’s already living off of energy drinks and spicy food alone.

Noelle (sophomore) is in tennis, Choir, self-defense, basketball, and is slowly being coerced into theater, but is struggling with grades because her focus is everywhere else. Still, seeks the help of her teachers to improve her grades and build her perseverance because Coach Varka says “NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT?? 🗣️”

Mika (sophomore) the genuine most normal guy in this school. In the robotics club, does normal in classes (B+ and A- student), but does pretty well in math despite the teacher, might get picked on by Lohen if he manages to escape ISS again. Only ever missed a test because he was shoved in a locker, but was excused because he’s a good student.

Fischl (freshman) oouuu BOY that is a theater kid if I’ve ever seen one!! Sometimes you just look at a freshman and go “yup, that thing came straight outta middle school”? Because that’s exactly what this is. Fischl’s the DM of a dnd campaign with Bennett, Razor, and…BARBARA?? (Whom is the cleric). I don’t really need much explaining to do when it comes to Fischl.

Bennett (freshman) TRIED to join theater when Fischl forced him to but every time he stepped in the theater it was a disaster. This kid was a walking M*cbeth so Dahlia chased him out. He was elated when Fischl started the DND campaign. Mona, sensing this evil misfortune within him avoided him like an enderman to water, absolutely terrified of going near him.

Razor (freshman) that is my semi-verbal autistic son 🥹 (I too am autistic and were around non-verbal/semi-verbal kids for a long time) Varka drafted him into the boy’s football team and has been training him since the 7th grade. It’s just giving Erling Halaand, the Norwegian soccer player. “Razor want ball, Razor get ball” and he mows through the entire Liyuan defense. His recruitment with Varka went entirely like: “I see that wolf in you, boy. Chase it. Chase that ball!” And now Razor can outmatch most seniors in his team.

Durin (freshman) that one random ass new kid from an obscure country no one’s heard of, who’s living with Albedo during his time abroad. Wants to make friends with the Freshman trio, and try out all the cool things the school has to offer.

Non-student playable characters

Since the elementary school (k-6th grade) ends earlier than the high school, Klee just takes the short walk over to the high school and sits in Albedo’s classroom eating snacks and drawing for the hour until class ends. The students think she’s the cutest angel but Albedo knows he has a parent-teacher conference to attend this weekend…

Diona is that kid who has severe anger management issues (me too, girl) and has to come over to a separate quiet room in the high school to have her feelings time. (We all know her irresponsible drunkard father Draff is the reason why she’s so stressed 😢)

So I’ve been getting some requests on social media about writing a modern genshin school au!! So here are some plans/hopes for the future!!

Fanfic/Headcanon Plans

— first off, I’d like to just present some headcanons on what roles characters would play within the school setting like teacher/student/staff or clichés (like weird kid or class prez) and I’d very much like some feedback

— I got requests under a video by @wumbologystudent on TikTok, one of my favorite genshin creators, talking about a Mondstadt high vs Liyue high, and I began putting my input on roles characters in Mondstadt would be, which got people interested in my idea

— basically what I’m getting at with the second bullet point is this series of fics/headcanons WILL be a school rivalry type plot and I’m super excited to get started.

— people in the comments of the video had also given me ideas of other school rivalries that would take place in Teyvat, such as Natlan vs Fontaine and I WILL be incorporating that because basically what I’m thinking is the chapters takes place over a whole sports season. I was never really a sporty kid myself but I had so many friendly peers that’d invite me to their games/competitions and I could never say no. Even if they were on the same day and 10 minutes apart I’d still attend both.

— so what I mean by that is: a chapter would be pretty long, and it would take place over a football season, the next could be about rival schools collaborating on a theater production (I was a theater kid lmao) and the next would be over a basketball season. It’s kinda a rough idea right now so if anyone has any ideas on how to help smooth it out please mention it!!

— never really write much fanfiction released to the public, so this is a little exciting for me!! Really the only fanfic I’ve ever written is Starlight Glimmer time traveling through history that I wrote to help myself study for AP World History: Modern. The vibes should be fun, light, thrilling, intriguing, and I’m not shy to ships, so if anyone wants to request that a ship be canon in this universe I’ll usually agree if it’s a nice one I like, which shouldn’t be a high standard because I love multishipping, homosexual ships, and others. The same goes for gender headcanons!! I’m super welcome to them, personally I really love gender-confused wanderer.
