StoryMapJs: A map can tell your story

StoryMapJs is a tool through which we can do stories that is mapped and geographically located. In StoryMapJs we can use map to tell our stories related location supported by photo, cartoons, text, videos, audios, etc.

These are some steps to work on StoryMapJs:

Type StoryMapJs in your search engine

Then click on StoryMap JS - Telling stories with maps option

Home page of StoryMapJs will open then click on Make a “Storymap now” option

For first time user it will ask for gmail account login or google drive authorization

Click on “New” option for new project to start

Then two options will come, Map or Gigapixel.

Click on Map, and it gives you option to create your storymap, then you have to give a title to your Storymap project.

Title slide will come. Write your title that is Headline with description, on that title page you can add Media (photo, video) to give support to your story with caption and credits.

Then click “add slide”

On every slide you can get location option for your story. You can enter the location and can find your specific location on world map

On the below corner of the slide you have a slide option through which you can change the style of your presentation of the slide i.e., background colour, background image

Once your story has done go to the “share” option (top right side of the page) and share the story on social media or you can embed the link on tumblr.

Issues with StoryMapJs

There is a problem with the theme option, when you share the story on social media like tumblr there is a chance that your story will look stretched

Sometimes headline of the story will look bigger than preset version.
