Spring is coming. It always comes. And it always comes in its own time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There’s a beautiful inevitability to this (that I tend to forget somewhere around January 3 every year 😅). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am realizing how much of the last few months I’ve spent wishing time away, wishing to be somewhere else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Winters are hard. An easy landing for a Monday morning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ______ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of my favorite things this year has been intentionally setting my workdays for Tuesday-Thursday so that I have Mondays and Fridays to focus personal projects, home things, appointments, etc., and my weekends to choose what I do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It took a solid year of coaching—and some new and needed boundaries—to make this a feasible option for me, but it’s been incredibly lifegiving (and surprisingly productive!). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of people-pleasing myself into burnout, I’m beginning to live into a rhythm that I’ve been wishing for since I started my business 15 years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I spent way too long fighting my own expectations of what productivity looked like. I couldn’t rest, even when I didn’t have any work at all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now I know what my capacity is (well, most of the time 😅), and where I can say yes (or no, sometimes), and I’m leaning into what comes easily. We haven’t seen golden hour for a few days, so I’m indulging myself with a sunset. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _____ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I feel like I’m 90, the way my bones ache in the rain anymore.
