I still get annoyed by how heavily ac valhalla pushes that Erke might be someone to suspect of being a cultist as a diversion/tense plot point especially because he couldn't have less to do with the cult but thinking of it outside of pushy narrative guiding, within the story world itself, it's kinda funny. Erke says lowkey condemning shit but it's just because he has the worst choice of words and is completely ignorant to that fact. Stowe, who is in love with Erke, admits that he fears that Erke is a cultist, meanwhile Erke is plotting ways to confess his love to Stowe. Like imagine you've been head over heels in love with this guy for years and so you act a little strange sometimes as a result, as well as come across as super off-putting to strangers because you just wanna be by your love's side, and then this same guy who you're in love with approaches you and, with the weight of a lifetime of Catholic guilt behind him, asks if you killed the old guy who was like a father to you. And his only proof is that you're a little strange sometimes. I think that would make me cry with embarrassment and fall in love a little more.
