Ren checked his phone for perhaps the fifth time in the last half hour he’d been waiting there. He’d even called her once, but there was no answer. Was Kiki even coming...?

At about the forty minute mark, Ren had stopped checking his phone or staring impatiently at the empty chair across from him. Now, he was just staring down at the table itself, looking dejected.
