crazy how being in a secure relationship allows you to feel more comfortable with aspects of yourself. I was in the car with my fiancé yesterday and laughed while saying, “Oh shit, <Friend A> probably knows the girl I had gay panic for in college” TO WHICH HE RESPONDED, “I’m so happy that you are finally starting to feel comfortable with that part of yourself instead of repressing it” and holy fuck do I love this man 😭❤️ They never once pressured me into accepting that I may not be 100% straight and let me come to my own conclusion. He also understood why it took me so long to get to this point. For context, I had an ex INSIST I wasn’t straight even though I was still very much in the closet. This and the fact that I grew up believing “Other people are allowed to be gay but I can’t” for some unknown reason that I can’t pinpoint. All that coupled with imposter syndrome made the journey take 5 years lmao!
