Have you ever had a monkey take something from you? At the top of the Rock of Gibraltar you will be able to see countless monkeys ruling as king of the rock! They are a thriving group of wild monkeys originally from the Atlas Mountains and the Rif Mountains of Morocco. No one knows just how they were brought over from the African continent to the European continent, but most likely it was due to human activity. I always find dead trees like this so interesting to look at and see in photos, especially when everything else around them is alive! Does anyone know what causes these trees to die? This photo was taken from the fortification, known as West Side, which guards the town of Gibraltar. You can see Algeciras, Spain, on the other side of the Bay of Gibraltar and harbor.
