the reason why peter and xeno work so well together is because they both understand what being on the outside feels like. what being the overlooked sibling is like. they sit in a shadow, but it's okay because they're sat there together. and that's ultimately what kills them. they both understand each other too well. peter understands why xeno wants nothing to do with the war and in turn xeno understands why peter betrays his friends. but they still resent one another for their choices. empathy is their connecting thread but when they are too close for too long, it strangles them both.

Strange Craft Beer Co; Denver, CO: Strangetail V

4.5% ABV

I suspected I would only be able to handle a taster of this fascinating concoction, after reading about the pile of cherries and chili peppers that went into it.  I remain reluctant to embrace pepper beers, though in the right combination, they can be an interesting flavor addition.  Strangetail V was definitely intense.  The nose had a hint of Belgian yeast, paired with the sweetness of cherries.  The initial taste was all tart cherry, but it finished with the distinct peppery burn of the chilies.  I was correct in my assumption that a pint would have been too much for me, but i’m glad I tried it!
