typically, caspian was good at dealing with his personal problems at home. if he had a feeling it would escalate, he either ignored it completely, or waited until it could be dealt with private. he didn’t have the patience to deal with drama otherwise. so -- when he saw his phone ring, he knew not to answer it, but out of pure hope, he had answered it anyway ; in the middle of the store, commencing to a long -- and mildly loud -- argument. “yup. got it. don’t call back.” he finally spat, hanging up the phone and shoving it into his pocket. he realized there were eyes on him after he hung up, groaning at the total inconvenience. “sorry. you can stop staring now.”

like clockwork, she finds herself stirring awake at the so-called witching hour; THREE AM blinks in the darkness, taunting. it doesn't take long before she's lured from the bed, and takes to wandering the streets instead. most people are, understandably, asleep. when she stops, it's in front of a bench, too dark for her to see properly, the lamps not proffering any good amount of light. allowing an exasperated sigh, palms move to rub against tired eyes and she brings her knees to her chest, head resting atop them.
