I’m listening to the 3rd track - Danny Kendrick’s “Artiste K7″ (this doesn’t actually appear to be on the cassette offered here...I’m pretty sure this is the same Danny Kendrick that plays in Stratocastors). But I’m immediately struck by the Television Personalities feel of this song. There is also some great German sounding punk (Devo influenced - listen to Nick Normal).
In reality, this cassette is all over the place (as any good compilation should be). This definitely errs on the side of weird “pop”. Think Ariel Pink and R. Stevie Moore making an album together.
This is the 3rd Riso Club tape (Leipzig, Germany). This points to a lively, if not a weird scene in the city.
