Getting my motivation back!
I've been trying to decide on a plan to follow, in order to get myself in good 5k shape, I think I've settled on 1 or 2 now but they are fairly similar, it's only a 1-2 week rolling plan so should be pretty straight forward.
Tonight was a good run out, planned on 6-8 ended up but about 8.6 I think. Started with a nice easy mile to warm up (7.22) then upped to sub-7 pace which felt pretty good, struggled with the humidity and it was tipping down with rain, but overall it was a very good run, held sub-7 pace the whole time, apart from a couple of miles on the trails where it dropped obviously, but I maintained the effort level, maybe increased slightly. On the way home I had a 90 second breather and then blasted a Strava segment I know, and already have the CR on, which is now 6 seconds faster, it's up a steep hill, and it felt good the whole way up, enjoyed the effort and it was sub-6 pace, then held 6:00 for the rest of the mile which again didn't feel too difficult.
I think I'm definitely getting my lungs back after Ironman, I'm going to maybe race parkrun on Saturday, or maybe just knock round in 18 minutes, then a longer run hopefully Sunday.
