Although A Million Billion Dying Suns formed early last year, frontman Nate Mercereau and the rest of the band have been bouncing around professionally as they've collaborated with the likes of Richard Ashcroft, Lauryn Hill and the legendary Chaka Khan. 

And with a name like A Million Billion Dying Suns, their sound at times is appropriately blazing and psychedelic with undulating reverb and wah-wah pedal drenched guitars, as you'd hear on the Strawberry EP's first single "Plush." "Secret Tree," the latest single off their forthcoming debut effort is bolstered by plinking keyboard chords and propulsive bass while retaining blistering guitars -- in particular, check out the guitar solo at the bridge. Whereas as "Plush" had a blissed-out psychedelic disco feel, "Secret Tree" is decidedly muscular and yet strangely funky.

"Plush," the first single off the band’s forthcoming debut effort, the Strawberry EP manages to evoke the band’s name in some fashion — the undulating, reverb and wah-wah pedal drenched guitars seem to evoke the image of a star that’s just about to explode. And placed right above that are sinuous synth lines, and a pounding four-on-the-four beat. In some way, it sounds like blissed-out, psychedelic disco — until the blistering guitar solo right before the bridge. It’s a song that manages to be somewhat trippy like MGMT's Oracular Spectacular but strangely funky. 

The official video is fittingly a psychedelic trip with images of galaxies colliding and falling apart; while at times creating the sensation of floating through the clouds and free-falling towards earth. Whoa, dude.
