Strawberry Spring is a very early short story by Stephen King that had a huge impact on me when I was younger. It's about a college campus living in fear of a serial killer. What stuck with me the most was the tense atmosphere. The tone is hushed, but with a mix of panic and perverse excitement just under the surface.
