This Strawberry Balsamic Tart combines the sweet juiciness of fresh strawberries with the tangy richness of balsamic vinegar, all nestled in a buttery tart shell. It's a delightful dessert that balances fruity sweetness with a hint of acidity.
Ingredients: 1 9-inch tart shell, baked. 500g fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced. 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 tablespoon cornstarch. 1/4 teaspoon salt. Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 175F 350C. Balsamic vinegar and sugar should be mixed together in a small saucepan. For about 5 minutes, cook over medium heat until the sugar melts and the mixture slightly thickens. Take a small bowl and add cornstarch. Then, add 1 tablespoon of water and mix it well. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and stir it all the time for about two minutes, or until it gets thick. Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit. Put strawberry slices in the baked tart shell. Make sure the strawberries are all covered in the balsamic mixture by pouring it over them. The tart shell should be golden brown and the strawberries should be soft after 20 to 25 minutes in a hot oven. Get it out of the oven and let it cool down completely before you serve. If you want, you can serve the tart slices with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
