Armistice Day! Beautiful day today to see the War Memorial finally restored and standing magnificently in The Commonwealth War Graves Cemetary opposite The Chapel. We found the statue under the trees.. it was as black as the ace of spades it looked like a lump of concrete after jet spraying it we found out it was Sicilian Marble,at one point it had a bronze soldier standing on it this was apparently stolen at sometime in the 70’s. Thanks to Jason @lapicidastone for donating and cutting a new section for capping the top off, also a big thanks to Councillor Paul Haslam and his wife for research and organising the rebuild. Also thanks to Harrogate Council for funding the rebuild and Dean ex Royal Engineer for carrying out the work.
