The questionable aversion to modern day comforts had had the tendency to appear to be the most incomprehensible part of the failure, the continuous rejection of living in proper housing persisting even here. It’d never been the generously provided luxuries that’d inspired what was some truly unbearable discomfort, but rather the implied complacency that’d come from the acceptance. And so, practiced avoidance had been necessary to prevent ever seeming amendable, from ever presenting the chance of being further entangled in commitments and responsibilities he’d never desired.

But despite carrying out those extensive preventive measures as always, somehow entrapment had come about in a completely unforeseen way. He was essentially immobilized, small stature never once an issue beforehand but now lacking the physical strength required to upheave the body bearing down upon it. He wasn’t entirely sure how this circumstance had come about, how someone had not only unabashedly seated themselves atop him while he slept sprawled across the bench, but that they too had settled into a comfortable doze. One last fruitless attempt was made to liberate his entrapped limbs, even going so far as to try to wiggle out from underneath the oppressive weight, but failure was met at every turn.

”What the hell ...” Murmured exasperation, this was a level of harassment never previously experienced. Another ineffective shove took place before voice was raised to rouse some sense of wakefulness in the perpetrator, fingertips slapping sharply against one of the man’s legs to aid in that endeavor. “Could you, oh I don’t know .. get off me? And maybe, just, get your own damn bench? This isn’t funny, man.”

          HOW MANY TIMES HAS IT happened now? others rounding the corner, simply to be greeted with a group of thugs so eagerly awaiting their arrival and what coin they might have to weasel from them in threatening words. even so, it had not truly been her business while she finished her errands, and yet it was these warnings which she would attempt to give... if only they did not fall on deaf ears. ah, not that those muggers were truly keen on her forewarning them, either. she could only wonder how long it might take before they might interfere to put an end to it, prepared to handle the situation when it arises.

          ❝ Don’t go that way. Those people... they’re waiting to mug others. ❞ simply stated, casting a golden glance toward him before the direction where they lie in wait for unsuspecting civilians as footsteps scuffle near by.
