Sir William Crookes was a pioneering scientist credited with many key discoveries and inventions that paved the way for devices like the vacuum tube, CRT, and X-Ray tubes.

One of his interesting side discoveries from 1879 was how minerals with fluorescent properties would glow when placed into a vacuum and excited via a high voltage electric field.

Following this discovery, displays using this technology were made to order and sold as decorative art, like this tube containing a glass sphere embedded with Ceylon rubies - circa 1900.

City23 Week 1

We find ourselves at the very top of the reservoir, where many start to define the edge of the city proper. Logs cut down by the Waterlogged Logging Co. make their way down the river, often ridden by workers or travelers looking to rest their feet at the end of their journey to the city.

That's the first week done! It's been nice to sit down after work each day to write and sketch for just 5 minutes; I don't know if I'm going to be able to take the time to ink the sketches every week though.

I'm absolutely exhausted tonight so let's have an easy question: Q: What was the last series you finished reading? I FINALLY got to finish the Steampunk Chronicles! I started this series back in 2011 or so? Right when the first book was released. I read books 1 to 3 straight away, but never saw the fourth and final book in stores! I finally got my hands on it this year. You can check out my thoughts on all the books in my reviews!
