 You are amazing. I will never forget how we met (I mean come on, you talked about astrology for an HOUR).  Thanks for putting up with all my shit, especially when I was overly emotional the last 3 months of my pregnancy.  Also, thanks for dealing with me when I don’t approve of the girl(s) you get with. :P  I miss you tons and can’t wait for you to come home in a couple weeks!!!  I know I could go on forever just listing memories, but it’s all jumbled in my head!  Love you!

Hey, so I was searching the tag "short story ideas" and I saw something you posted about a story in which teleporting is a common human ability but there are a bunch of rules involved. This story exists! It's in a short novel called "The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester. It's a very interesting book, you should look it up if you're interested!

Ahaha, I use the tag for my own reference and didn't realize it might be populated.  ^^;  Sorry to throw informal junk in there.

Thanks for much for the recommendation, though!  It looks like my school library has it, I'll go look it up and buy a copy if I love it.  I probably will since teleporting is the neatest thing ever.  (Jumper the book is fantastic, the movie is amusing but they're quite separate entities.)  I think I ran across some short stories in F&SF exploring the idea too.  It's neat to see the idea developed in different lights.

I have the bestest friend in the whole world.  I’m exhausted from the doula workshop I attended all day so she’s willing to not only come over, but pick up sushi for me as well!!!  Is that true love or what?? :P

I wrote this about a girl just about 2 years ago and posted it on my old blog (and later deleted) - not realizing she knew my URL.  I had no idea what would become of us after she left, but now she's my best friend and I couldn't be happier.  I just had to repost it.

We stood there on your doorstep in the cold for probably 10 minutes. We didn’t want to say goodbye. I hate goodbyes. So we just stood there. And we kissed. A lot. And talked about how we didn’t want to say goodbye. And how it was more of a “see you later”. It sucked, and as I walked away, I knew I was going to cry. And I did. I even looked back to see if you were looking at me through a window or something, but I didn’t see you. I listened to Taylor Swift the whole way home, and I cried. Now I’m home, and I am watching Imagine Me & You, the movie you have yet to see, the one that I put in my purse just in case we had time to watch it. I never told you I had it there though. I just wanted things to play out… and they did. And we never watched it. Anyway, I’m glad I got to go to Silver Diner with you. I know it’s our place to go, and even when I go with others, I’ll always think of you. We shared some really serious moments there, even a moment where you had to tell the waiter to come back later. You asked me if I liked you, if I had strong feelings for you. And I asked you to define “strong”, and you never did, but I told you I liked you. And then I asked you the same thing, and you said you liked me, too. We both paused before giving out answers, almost as if we didn’t want it to be real because we don’t want to be hurt again. Or maybe because we had to think about it, contemplate the idea of it, whether it was good to like this other person or not. So many things went through my head before I answered you. After this conversation, our waiter who knows us well by now from our previous visits, asked us what was going to happen between us now that you’re going back to school. I wish I had waited for you to answer rather than me immediately responding. I said we hadn’t talked about it. And that was that. End of conversation. Then we had another moment, a moment we didn’t get to finish, one where we got sidetracked and I didn’t know how to bring it up to you again. I want to finish that moment with you now, but I can’t. Because you’re at your house and I’m at mine and you’re packing and leaving and I’m just watching this movie trying to think about you but not think about you at the same time.
