Here is a new #jeremyvilleCSA message for today. To me, my life (even as a child) has mostly always been about questioning society's expectations and preconceptions about who and how I should be, and so, from early on in my life, I've always asked myself 'what if'. What if you don't need another person in your life to complete you. What if you never worked in an office job ever. What if you never ever drove a car. What if you never ate meat again. What if you did not actually have to eat 3 meals a day. What would happen? Lateral thinking would occur. A paradigm shift. Inner revolution. Alternate views, and your own well thought out and researched solutions, would present themselves. You would find out what made you, YOU. And you would look for that difference in others too, and respect that uniqueness. In time, radical solutions to society's problems would also reveal themselves. That's how our species has evolved and moved forward. That strange but determined person in the tribe who questions the tradition, and decides to try something new. So when society asks, why aren't you in a relationship yet, why don't you have kids, how much do you earn, what car do you drive, why don't you conform to eating this food pyramid... Your own strength of conviction, and hard won answers, holds you through that onslaught of conformity, and suddenly it's not so strange anymore to be you. #FeelinCompleteAloneOnTheStreet ... I drew this for the teenage me, who could have felt so alone as the awkward kid that I was, but instead, I found my own company to be exhilarating and perfectly complete. And only then I really started to think, and then I started to draw. Drawn today for you, with love from the #StreetsofJeremyville #LiveLifeSunnySideUp #jeremyville (at Brooklyn, New York)
