Wounds
When we are wounded, our first instinct is often to bandage our wounds. We cover them up masking the pain in hopes this will facilitate healing. Sometimes this works, but only temporarily. To truly heal we must bare our wounds to the world. This vulnerability concerns us for we fear that it will only make the wound worse. Over time, however, we come to find that we have healed in a way not possible if we had covered up our suffering. Rather than avoiding the pain, we dealt with it head on, shamelessly. Sure a scar remains, but the process which took place to create that scar made us stronger than we had ever previously been.
