YOU KNEW AND YOU DIDNT SAY ANYTHING!? WHY!?
I don't need lectures from people who don't show their face.
Because for once, I didn't want to interfere with Mulan's life. Sure, I guess I take the role of the overprotective father 99% of the time, but not for this.
At first I hated Shang with a firing passion of a thousand burning temples. He pushed around my baby girl - I don't care if it was his job or not. No one messes with my mulan.
But you know what? Slowly as she kept training with him, I realized he had his good points. I started thinking 'Alright, so this guy is okay' and Mulan seemed to be getting more comfortable around him too so I figured she had finally made a friend -Then I saw it. I saw that spark in her eye. Later I saw it in his. I knew they had feelings for each other right then and there - call it dragon instinct if ya want. But I knew, and I wanted them to be together. They both wanted to be together - it seemed like a win-win situation.
However, neither of them knew how to confess their feelings. And I do not have the best track record when it comes to love, trust me on that. Mulan doesn't talk with me about these sort of things, so I could never give her advice. I'd try to bring it up in a conversation and she would flat out deny it. I knew if I pushed the situation it would just end up with us yelling at eachother, and I don't like yelling at Mulan.
I tried to talk to Shang about it but either the guy was really dense or was also denying everything I said.
I gave up trying to play matchmaker. I figured if the gods wanted them to be together, they would find a way. Then the curse happened.
Do I think Mulan and Shang still have feelings for each other? Hell yes.
Will I force them to act on those feelings? No.
Because overall, who they love is their choice.
Do ya see what I'm gettin' at Anon? It wouldn't have mattered if I had shouted it to the heavens above or just stayed quiet. Because Shang and Mulan are both stubborn little shits. They gotta figure it out for themselves.
