As the Dust Clears | Closed RP

There were no more helicopters. No more screaming or fighting. The masked warriors had all retreated. The lab had survived and Jim had no reason to still be on its roof.

And yet there he was.

Sheila was nestled into his hair, sleeping off the excitement of the battle. He hugged his flamethrower, long since out of fuel, to his chest and let his eyes wander the scenery. He was okay, he was, as long as he didn't get too close to the edge of the roof.

People were filtering back into the city, and into the offices. Back to work, as usual, but out of habit or fear, he didn't know.

He didn't recognize most of them, but eventually someone caught his eye. In an instant he was on his feet, startling Sheila awake, and waving. "Sara!"
