It was a tense moment. The Emperor didn’t speak, allowing the man to explain the situation from his point of view. But Alexander wasn’t immediately released and the Flesh still writhed and squirmed around him. Its movements actually became more intense as the two men held eye contact.
Then, being just a few seconds or a couple of minutes later, Emperor Belos managed to take a deep breath. As he slowly exhaled, the excessive Titan Flesh returned back to stone. The flesh still holding Alexander did loosen its grip and pulled some of the teeth out of his clothes and flesh, but he was still held fast.
“You fool...” Belos softly growled, hand moving to his face and he rubbed his eyes through his mask. “Both Hunters are the current Golden Guards. If he stabbed someone, there’s a good reason for it. If either one of them decide they need to kill someone, then deadly force was clearly necessary for a multitude of reasons. All of that is part of their jobs.” He had to take another breath, and dropped his hand on the second exhale.
“Do you have any idea who it was he had stabbed? Or did you get a good look at them at the very least? We can’t rely on the stab wound if they already slipped into the Healers or go to one after they escape...”
