Last night at my little country home club, I saw a girl do the most and dance for a guy for free, all while reaching into her own bag, to throw ones in the air at herself.

I know I haven’t seen it all, but that was entertaining.

My friend turned me on to stripping because in the past, it’s helped her get through the most financially tough times in her life and afforded her a lot more independence. I live in a very family oriented college town in Florida’s bible belt, so dancing here is actually illegal. The closest clubs are about 1.5 -2hrs away. So it was time to get to it. My best friend bailed, which was fine because I’ll have to be by myself eventually anyways right?

I drove two hours away to a relatively big city in Florida and went to a few clubs. Most of them had me fill out an application, none of them except one asked me to dance. Almost all of them said they will “call me” which in my eyes means that I’m not hired...

One club, a black club (not PC, whatever) was an odd experience. I went there and met the night hiring manager and he told me that I would be better off in a “white” club. He also told me my shoes (which are black pleasers with a clear bottom) were exotic and more appropriate for white clubs. He said my outfit was too “lingerie” and needed to be costume-y. He said he would start me off with day shift (which doesn't offer weekends) until I was ready for night shift and when I asked about rules he said that its “up to you” but its illegal to get naked, blasé blasé. I went back home, feeling like I didn’t get anywhere. I just wanted a place that was flexible so I could go to school full time, hopefully quit my straight job, and not have to stay awake at night every night wondering how I'm gonna pay for my life.

I feel so lostlike I don’t know what I’m doing. I have questions:

-Is it not normal to wear sexy lingerie on stage?

-Will most jobs hire you on the spot if they want you to work?

-Do any of you women travel for work, and is it worth it?

Guidance would be a huge help, because I’m feeling alone.
