For Generative writing 13 we had to discuss one of the three readings we had to do for unit two. Discussing "Regarding the pain of others" by Susan Sontag brought up how to discuss an argument. She wrote about war and many topics but always explaining multiple sides of a story without ever pushing one side or the other. The piece was very insightful, yet confusing. It challenged its reader because it never pushed the reader to pick on side or another, rather just showing multiple angles to an issue. I feel that Sontag's writing relates greatly to the topic of stripping. There are many sides, angles, and issues to stripping. One may strip for money, or because they like to dance. They may treat it as a job, or as a necessary evil. I feel that there are many ways that the Sontag piece, if written around stripping would illustrate how there are many sides to life, many jobs you may take, and many reasons you may approach a job. Whether stripping is plain dancing and job to one, or a much dirtier and exotic thing to another, there are always many sides to every story.
