Munkustrap is the main focus of the video, split a little with Deut, because it’s about his balancing being the parent figure to Alonzo while still maintaining the relationship he has to Deut. After Grizabella’s ascension, Deuteronomy is shaken; changed. He’s distant to his sons, and only superficially cheery to the tribe. It’s easier for him to be a father figure to a mass of cats, than to be a parent to his boys. Alonzo has decided to let it all roll off his back, or at least, to give the appearance of it, so that he can take some burden off of Munk’s shoulders.
Basically it’s a riff on how i usually hc their dynamic, just replace Grizabella w/ Victor. You have Deut, who’s still too grief-stricken to be there for his youngest; Alonzo, who is trying to find his own path while looking up to his brother more than his father, and Munkustrap, who walks the line between father, son, brother, and tribe protector. Not the most cohesive family by any means, but a family all the same.
