Assessment week for the ‘What do you care about ?’ Assignment.
65 Students from across the Art Foundation and Art & Design Extended Diploma presented their work to staff and peers. A terrific week of creativity, conversations and possibilities. Next - we spend two weeks designing shoes with Clarks.
Daisy came into collect her 3D printed final shoe design after winning the Clarks Shoe Design assignment on last year’s Art Foundation. The shoe was the result of a week’s work experience in the Clarks factory in June and was produced in China from Daisy’s final orange and citrus themed design. Having completed her Foundation course Daisy is now studying on the fine Art BA (Hons) programme at Plymouth University.
Great visit by fashion/textiles artist Jane Bowler today, in the textiles department whilst other Art Foundation and Extended Diploma Students visited the Carol Peace sculpture exhibition in Bristol. Presentation about practice and then a really productive practical workshop using found materials, manipulation and joining techniques to make jewellery, wearable elements and experimental fashion accessories.

FMP Progress Review week.
Terrific week having short FMP progress tutorials with all of the Foundation and Extended Diploma students. So many interesting ideas and such a wide range of themes - lots to think about and its all go now as we work towards the deadlines at the end of half term.
