New cane is complete!! I came up with the idea for Heero in Gravity Occlusion and then I just had to see if I could make it a reality. From Chapter 5:

The cane itself was a bit of a surprise, instead of getting one of the canes from the museum's gift shop that had the stick wrapped in some artistic print this cane was a sculpture all on its own. The body of the cane was encased in what looked like multiple sculpted white wings layered over one another, encircling the cane's stick in an upward spiral. At the top, where they reached the very unusual looking handle that looked like half a Shepard's hook, the last of the wings came together with their primary feathers touching. Heero turned the cane and let out a small gasp, where the wings ended at the top of the cane they obscured a sculpted rendition of Wing's face. He suspected the wings were a nod to the upgrades he'd made to Wing Zero as a teen, but the face— his throat was suddenly tight and his eyes were warm. He ran his fingers reverently over the sculpted feathers of the wings and tried to regain some control over himself. It was… it was an incredible gift.

It's not exactly how I imagined (They don't make an SD version of just Wing apparently?? alas, I got Wing Zero instead), but I think it came together really well. Especially considering I haven't done anything like this, ever really. I've done some sculpture work and I paint, but this project was a lot larger than I originally thought and involved quite a few failures along the way. I learned a lot! And I may end up using what I learned at some point. It will not be an everyday cane. Those feathers are way more delicate than I was anticipating. But, it's pretty sweet and I'm really happy with it!
