Babies sit for many hours in their strollers so it should be chosen wisely. There are few basics which should be taken into consideration before buying a baby stroller. You can also opt for additional stroller gears if you need but here are few basics which you should check before purchasing.

What to look into a baby stroller?

Safety of the baby is the major concern while buying a stroller. So make sure you check for crotch straps ( a handy device) provided with safety belts which prevent baby from slipping out. Remember safety of your baby is utmost important and don't compromise with baby safety at all.

A stroller should have a good breaking system which should enable you to park the stroller even at inclined areas. You need not to worry about baby stroller to roll down. Check strollers breaking abilities and test it by putting some weight into stroller.

For comfortable use of stroller check for adjustable hand grips enabling both of you to use stroller simultaneously and effectively.

Check for stroller gears i.e storage basket under the main seat, number of pockets to carry drinks, toys etc for your baby.

I am seeking help from five to ten parents who are willing to join a focus group on the topic of stroller safety products. I am a student attending a summer business camp. In my specific group, we are developing lights to illuminate those that use strollers in dark or low visibility conditions. I am the Chief Marketing Officer and will use your answers in the design of my final product. If you are a parent/caregiver with a stroller, please take a moment to answer the following:

What is the current type of stroller you use?

Do you go out when it is dark with your stroller?

Have you ever purchased safety related accessories for your stroller? What are they?

Is there a part of your stroller you would like to be more visible? Which part in particular? 

Do you ever worry that you and your child are not visible?

Would you purchase a lighting system to illuminate your stroller and child in dark conditions? How much would you spend?

Would you wear an accessory to light yourself up, such as a jacket, hat, or shoes when pushing a stroller in low visibility? What is a reasonable price for this?
